Q. What is an identity guarantor for permanent residence application?

A. Guarantor for permanent resident application is a person who guarantees morally responsibility.

For the foreigner living stably and continuously in Japan, a gurantor promises to the Minister of Justicean economic gurantee and a compliance with laws and regulations to the applicant.

By the way, if you do not observe the gurantee, you will not take a legal responsibility. However, it will be deemed as lacking eligibility as an identity guarantor for applications such as visa after that.

In addition, guarantor is limited to a Japanese or a permanent resident, and submission of incumbent certificate, tax payment certificate, resident card is required. Therefore, in the absence of reasonable income, it seems that there is a case that it is not accepted as a guarantor because of the suspicion of responsibility.
