What kind of qualification is it?
It is for a foreigner engaged in a business that requires expertise or knowledge in the field of natural science based on a contract with public or private institutions in Japan, or in the field of humanities, or in the field that only he/she can engage a job with his/her special sense as a foreigner.
However, excluding "Professor" "Artist" "Journalist" "Investor/Business Manager" "Legal/Accounting Services" "Medical Services" "Researcher" "Instructor" "Entertainer" "Intra-company Transferee". In other words, if you normally work for a company, all of these other things fall under this visa.
Who can apply?
It must fall under the following two conditions (① and ③, it ② or ③)
In the case of engaging in work requiring technology or knowledge belonging to the field of natural sciences or humanities, it shall fall under ALL of the following for the work to be engaged.
However, this is not the case when you are engaged in business related to information processing and you pass the examination on information processing technology specified by the Minister of Justice with the notice, or have qualification.
A. You must graduate from a university prior to the subject related to that technology or knowledge, or have received education equal to or greater than that.
B. Prior to courses related to that technology or knowledge, you have completed a specialized course of Japanese vocational school.
C. Having a work experience of 10 years or more (including the period preceding the subjects at school).

What kind of qualification is it?
"Skilled Labor" was established to accept foreigners with skilled skills belonging to special industrial fields that Japanese can not substitute, from the viewpoint of contributing to the development of the Japanese economic society and industry.
"Requiring skillful skills" means that you need skills with their own accumulation of experience, and from this point, it is distinguished from that simple labor which is a mechanical work.
Who can apply?
Cookers, building engineers, manufacturing / repair of foreign products, jewelry / precious metals / fur processing, animal training, oil / geothermal excavation survey, aircraft pilot, sports leader, wine appraisal etc., And receive compensation equal to or more than the amount equivalent to Japanese.
① Cooker
A person who is engaged in business that is devised overseas by skills related to cooking or food production and that requires special things absent in Japan and falls under any of the following condition...
A. With least 10 years of practical experience (including periods majoring in educational institutions) .
B. Depending on Agreement between Japan and the Kingdom of Thailand on economic cooperation,Thai chefs will have only 5 years of practical experience.
② Building engineer
With over 10 years of skills related to foreign constructions or civil engineering (5 years in case of engaging in command and supervision by a foreigner with 10 years of practical experience, 5 years) or more, he/she engages in work requiring skills.
Foreign country specific construction is the skill related to construction and civil engineering that is not found in Japan, including framed wall construction method and directly pasted public relations by imported stone.
For technical personnel of framed wall construction method, more detailed conditions are imposed.
③ Manufacture and Repair of foreign products
With over 10 years of practical experience (including period majoring in a foreign educational institution) on skills related to the manufacture or repair of products unique to foreign countries, he/she engages in work requiring skills
It must be a product not in Japan, such as European glassware or Persian carpet. For shoe fitters making therapeutic shoes, those that manufacture shoes that have forced effective prevention of diseases such as hallux valgus using knowledge such as anatomy and surgery are included.
④ Jewelry, Precious metal, Fur processing

⑤ Animal training
With over 10 years of practical experience (including period majoring in foreign educational institution) on skills related to training of animals, he/she engages in work requiring skills.
⑥ Oil and Geothermal Drilling Survey
With over 10 years of practical experience (including period majoring in a foreign educational institution) on skills related to undersea drilling for oil exploration, drilling for geothermal development or revision of geological survey for submarine mineral inspections , he/she engages in work requiring that skill.
⑦ Aircraft pilot
A person who has a history of flight of 250 hours or more on skills related to aircraft maneuvering and who is engaged in business as an operator by getting on an aircraft for use in the air transportation business prescribed in Article 2, Paragraph 18 of the Air Law
⑧ Sports instructor
With regard to skills related to guidance of sports, those who have at least 3 years of practical experience (including period majoring at a foreign educational institution and period of time engaged in sports upon receiving compensation), or minister of Justice recognizes he/she as equivalent, or he/she has participated in the Olympics, world championships or other international competitions as athletes.
Sports can be either competition sports or lifelong sports.
International games include regional or continental-wide competitions by competition. It does not include bilateral or intergovernmental goodwill councils.
Regarding "qigong", physically trained "qigong" as lifelong sports is included, but "qigong" treatment as disease treatment is not guidance of sports. It is necessary to obtain medical visa.
⑨ Wine appraisal etc
With the work experience of more than 5 years (including period majoring in foreign educational institution) on skills related to appraisal, evaluation and retention of wine quality and provision of wine (hereinafter referred to as "wine appraisal etc.") Those falling under any of the above, he/she engages in business requiring skills

Since sommeliers have operations such as wine selection, purchasing, storage, sale and management, it is important whether public and private organizations that have made contracts are doing such food related business. What kind of qualification is it?
It is a visa which was added to Immigration Control Law amended on November 18, 2016. From September 1, 2017, you can now get it as a visa.
It is defined that a person who is qualified as a care worker based on a contract with a public or private institution in Japan is engaged in work to teach nursing care or do nursing care.
Who can apply?
① It falls under any of items 1 to 3 of Article 40, paragraph 2 of the social welfare worker and nursing care worker's law (being "a care manager")
②Receive compensation equal to or greater than the compensation paid to Japanese
Applicants who graduate from a Japanese nursing care worker training facility (a vocational school designated by a prefectural governor etc.) and acquired a qualification as a care worker are eligible. Overseas facilities and qualifications are not applicable.
As a typical example, we envisage entering a long-term care college as an international student, completing a course, acquiring national qualifications, and taking care of nursing at a public or private institution.
"Work providing guidance on nursing care or nursing care" means exercising work related to nursing care in general, including nursing care such as meals, bathing, and discharging, for those who need long-term care, with expert knowledge and skills.

What kind of qualification is it?
It is a visa for accepting foreigners who are transferred from a foreign office to a Japanese office in response to internationalization of corporate activities and personnel changes.
Those that transfer activities from a foreign company inside the same company to a Japanese business office for a certain period of time and perform activities of "Engineer / Specialist in Humanities/ International Services" fall under this category.
Who can apply?
① If you are engaged in the business of the status of residence "Engineer / Specialist in Humanities/ International Services" at the head office, the period (including those periods working in Japan) must continue for more than one year.
② Receive compensation equal to or greater than the compensation paid when Japanese work
Not only private companies but also public corporations, independent administrative agencies and other organizations are included. However, if the activity falls under "Diplomat" or "Official", you must obtain these visas.
